Join Our Choir

As our leader of our choristers, Choirmaster John Gough would say that his task is to prepare music to enhance and support the worship in the services, and at St. Catwg’s he certainly tries to do just that.

Currently St. Catwg’s Church has a small choir of adults, and John would welcome both children and adults who could sing the melody line, and alto, tenors and bass singers all of which would enable us to continue our four part singing tradition.

Our rehearsal time is 6.45p.m. on Tuesday evenings and rehearsals last about an hour.

John would love to return to the time when we had many young people singing in the choir, and we were musically strong enough to sing an anthem most weeks, but sadly at the moment, that is not the case. He would welcome anyone (young or old) who wishes to join our Choir: the only thing he would ask is that is that potential choristers can read—so for young people that would be about 6 or 7 years of age.

If you would like to speak to John in more detail about what being a chorister entails, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can contact him on by telephone: 029 2089 1721 or email:

The Pentyrch Churches of The Garth Ministry Area is a simple, joyful and inclusive Christian community. The worship, prayer and events we offer reflect our love of Jesus and all God’s people, near and far. Whatever your background, whatever you may be feeling, however often or infrequently, we would love you to join us.

“See I have written your name on the palm of my hands” Isaiah 49:16

In our Ministry Area we work hard to think creatively about our worship, so that it can hold the traditional and modern in a wonderful balance, thereby igniting a sense of God’s grace, joy and hope amongst us all.

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Mark 11:24
