1 Family Cardiff

The Parish of Pentyrch and Capel Llanilltern along with the Llandaff deanery, are looking to support a family of Syrian refugees through the UK government’s Community Sponsorship programme. The churches of the Llandaff Deanery, along with other groups an organisations in conjunction with Citizens UK, have been working for some time to welcome at least one Syrian family to be safely housed in Cardiff.

Whilst Covid-19 temporarily halted the programme just as we were about to receive a family, the project has now restarted. We have secured a rental property in anticipation of the arrival of the family but happily we have been able to offer it, on a temporary basis, to some asylum seekers in conjunction with Homes4U.

More information can be found in the @1FamilyCardiff Facebook Group or by following @1FamilyCardiff on Twitter.

A series of events are being arranged both in our Parish and further across the Deanery to raise funds for the project and raise awareness of what we are trying to achieve.

The Parish of Pentyrch and Capel Llanilltern is a simple, joyful and inclusive Christian community. The worship, prayer and events we offer reflect our love of Jesus and all God’s people, near and far. Whatever your background, whatever you may be feeling, however often or infrequently, we would love you to join us.

CHURCH SERVICES

In our Parish we work hard to think creatively about our worship, so that it can hold the traditional and modern in a wonderful balance, thereby igniting a sense of God’s grace, joy and hope amongst us all.
